Heinrich Pawloy was a chemistry graduate of Vienna University and began his career as patent attorney in our office in 1954. Our client list had always included a considerable number of large chemical companies and in 1962 Heinrich became Dr. A. Sonn?s partner and continued to ensure that the same high standard of service was provided in the chemical field as in others.

Dr. Pawloy dealt predominantly with chemical cases. During his many years of service as a Court expert in chemical infringement and nullity actions as well as judicial assessor in the Senate of the Commercial Court of Vienna, he acquired considerable knowledge and expertise which he willingly shared with his colleagues in the office. Furthermore, he became an approved Court expert in September 2000 having passed the relevant examination.

Having been a member of numerous official Austrian trade delegations to former Eastern bloc countries as well as to China as an expert on industrial property matters, he was able to make our office known in these countries and also to form many personal friendships.

In 1987 he was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit of the Austrian Republic by the President of Austria in recognition of his dedicated services.

He retired in 1999 from being a full-time partner but continued to act as a consultant to our office.

Dr. Pawloy passed way on 18th September 2007, aged 84. We shall never forget his gentleness, sense of humour, open mind, generosity and not least his tireless service to our office. He will be sorely missed.
